Welcome |

Welcome to my site, this is my home away from... well... all the rest of my stuff on
the net. I try to do a bunch of OpenGL programming and stuff in my spare time, so this is
where I keep all that stuff. If you want to learn more about me then go to the
About Me section, otherwise read on for some of my most recent
news. If you ended up here while looking for
Classic Mac Workshop (another site which I run which helps support Classic Macintosh
computers) then head right over.

Still exhaused... loving Cocoa though! Work is frustrating as always,
even though I love what I usually get to do while at work (lately I've had projects that
just didn't go as expected). Oh well, what can ya do, eh?
Today I may have gotten a fix that will get my CVS server up and running correctly on
Mac OS X so I can finish my tutorial!!!!!! I'm crossing my fingers, can't wait to get
home and try it.
I sent most of those Mac OS X ports in to NeHe, they came out very
well and VERY fast.
I've started working on my graphics engine again... hopefully I'll soon have CVS set up
correctly so you all can check out my design docs and stuff... on the weekends of course
:)
Wrote a cocoa app in a couple hours last night, very easy and very nice... Cocoa, or
should I say Obj-C, truly is fun to code! I'll fix the program tonight (found some
design flaws... no, not bugs, but design flaws... I hadn't counted on unions not working
correctly accross various bit lengths... oops). I'll try to release it soon. It's my
first Cocoa app, the next one (the REAL one) should follow in a couple weeks :)
I was bored and wrote up a little doc bragging about my dev machine, so go read
"Makkintosshu: My PowerBook G3" in the
Docs section. Didn't have time to add the screenshot though, so I'll have to do that
some other time.
I've also started formatting my news slightly better... hehe... ah, the joy of paragraph
tags! It's too bad I had to go to a font size of 2 to make posts seem shorter :/

Wow, now that's quite a while between updates. I'm home for the summer now, so even
though I do have my CVS server set up (changed it to
http://makkintosshu.dyn.dhs.org/ though), I only have a 56k modem at home, and I'm
blocked by a fire wall at work, so it's rarely going to be up during the summer :( Anyway,
no news, I'm exhaused and overworking myself, so I REALLY hope to have my CVS article out soon,
then an update to my AGL & DSp tutorial after that (I carbonized it, but still need to rewrite
the tutorial). In beetween those I'd like to fix my port of Egoboo (of which development has
been stalled for the past few months... but we're starting it back up now) and release my Carbon
ports of NeHe's tutorials (I have a minor bug to fix, but other than that I have about 6 of
them sitting around on my hard drive). What then? Got a Cocoa app I'm developing, who knows
when I'll get to that :\ |

Well, I've been extremely busy, in my spare time I've hardly been able to do done any
programming :( Since I've been running MacOS X Beta most of the time lately, which
has cool features like an apache web server, I've set up
makkintosshu.dhs.org on my computer. Soon
I hope to have a CVS server running so that people can more easily access source
code and tutorials that are in the works. |

The OpenGL 1.2 SDK has recently become available from
http://developer.apple.com/opengl/ so check it out, remeber that you will also
need OpenGL 1.2.1 from
http://www.apple.com/opengl/. |

Well, I've posted the matrix code I mentioned, it's currently un-optimised,
it only needs to demonstrate the methods and to make rotations & transformations
easier (so far anyway). You can find it in both my Docs
section and the Ware section. I've also written up a
quick article on Writing OpenGL-compatible
Matrix Code to go with it, it's also in the Docs
section. |

Well, still porting NeHe's OpenGL Tutorials,
actually, I just updated his Lesson 23 to support both InputSprocket and Mac OS
Toolbox methods of obtaining user input (it previously was only an InputSprocket
implementation). I just sat down and wrote some matrix code, so after I make
sure it's all working tonight I'll post it so you all can look at it. |

I finished up my Theory and Implementation
of Mac Game Input tutorial which can be found on my Docs
page. Hope all of you are having happy holidays! |
